Beach Clean 2024

Members of RAW Capital Partners recently took part in a beach clean to support Clean Earth Trust.

Despite a grey and wet day, a team of environmentally conscious RAW staff gathered at Havelet Bay in Guernsey after work, then dispersed across the beach and up to the La Vallette Bathing Pools armed with buckets and rubbish pickers. Within an hour they had collected 11 buckets, weighing 15kg, including everything from plastic packaging, bottles, cable ties, crisp packets, a ridiculous amount of cigarette butts, and more exotic items such as half a coconut and someone’s old mouth guard!

Ben Nichols, Managing Director of RAW Capital Partners, said the company and its people are focused on playing their part in helping protect and preserve the environment.

“As a certified Carbon Neutral investment manager, we were delighted to support the Clean Earth Trust and this important initiative designed to have a positive impact on local shores, wildlife, and the environment,” he added.

Fern Nicholson from the Clean Earth Trust said: “The team from RAW Capital Partners were fantastic to work with, and were very enthusiastic about helping to keep Guernsey's coasts clean for our public and our wildlife. A wonderful effort from everybody - thank you so much!"

The Clean Earth Trust is a local charity with a focus on sustainability and reducing the impact of human waste on the environment. The Beach Clean Project is one of their many campaigns, aiming to reduce the negative impacts of waste pollution on our ecosystems by organising group clean-ups at beaches around the island. The data collected by the charity on these clean-ups is used to compile an annual marine litter report, which focuses on trends in environmental pollution in Guernsey.
